ELIGIBILITY/BODYBUILDERS: Open to any NPC athlete. (2011 NPC cards will be available for $100.) Teenage competitors must not have exceeded 19 years of age the day of the contest.Masters competitors must have reached the age of 35/40/45/50 the day of the contest.Proof of age required. Novice competitors are eligible only if they have never placed 1st-3rd in an open class or 1st place Novice Division in any NPC sanctioned national qualifier event. Contestants may enter more than one division, however, athletes will only pose once at the evening competition.
AWARDS/BODYBUILDERS: Men’s/Women’s Open: 1st-5th in each weight class. Men’s Teenage, Men’s & Women’s Novice and Women’s Masters 35-45, 45+. Men’s Masters 35-40, 40-50, 50 and over: 1st -5th one class each. A Team Trophy will be awarded to the highest scoring team. ($25 fee per team is required.) Overall Men’s and Women’s Bodybuilding, Men’s and Women’s Overall Masters Bodybuilding, Overall Masters Figure, Bikini, Figure, and Men’s Physique Champions win sword awards! Overall USAFA Champion receives Overall Sculpture award!

* Novice class must have at least 3 competitors /class by April 15, 2010 or number of classes may be reduced.
TESTING PROCEDURE: As a condition of acceptance into this event, each bodybuilding contestant must pass a thorough 45-minute polygraph examination proving that he/she has not engaged in the use of anabolic steroids, clenbuterol, synthol, human growth hormone or non-over-the counter diuretics at any time during the preceding 36 calendar months. Upon receipt of entry form and fee, the contestant will be notified where to go in Denver or Colorado Springs for polygraph testing. The testing center will attempt to accommodate each contestant’s schedule. There will not be any additional charge to the contestant for the test. No notes from doctors allowed. Please be advised: Polygraph testing schedules are likely to be inconvenient for many competitors but it is the only way that ALL bodybuilders can be tested prior to the event. This is the best way to create a level playing field for bodybuilders instead of random testing on the day of the show, or after the show. Thank you for your understanding. This has been what has made NPC Natural Events in Colorado some of the best in the USA!
RULES/BODYBUILDERS: This contest is NPC sanctioned and will run in accordance with the most recent NPC rules and procedures. All bodybuilding competitors will be weighed in wearing their posing suit. SATURDAY MORNING WEIGH-IN ONLY. All decisions are final. (Click here for complete Bodybuilding Rules.)
BACKSTAGE: Due to limited backstage area at the Doherty High Theater, and for the competitors safety, only a limited number of assistants/ trainers will be permitted backstage. They may purchase a Backstage Trainer Pass for $40. The $40 Backstage Trainer Pass includes a Prejudging ticket, but Evening Finals ticket must be purchased separately. Only 1 Trainer per competitor. (Competitors do not need a ticket or a backstage pass.)
MUSIC/BODYBUILDERS: Contestants will use their own music WITH NO VULGARITY* for the finals, burned onto a CD, (CD-R ONLY!), WITH 60 SEC. POSING SONG CUSTOM BURNED. BRING CD TO SATURDAY CHECK-IN. Time Limit: 60sec. (Since ALL competitors are allowed to do their posing routine at the night show, each competitor is limited to 60 sec.)

MEN’S PHYSIQUE CONTEST INFORMATION: NEW!!
JUDGING CRITERIA-
* MUSCULARITY & BODY CONDITION: Judges will be looking for fit contestants who display proper shape and symmetry combined with muscularity and overall condition. This is not a bodybuilding contest so extreme muscularity should be marked down.
* STAGE PRESENCE & PERSONALITY: Contestants will be asked to walk in board shorts (shorts must be just above the knee in length and can be one inch below the belly button, no spandex and no logos are permitted on the board shorts however a manufacturer’s logo such as Nike symbol or Billabongs are acceptable.) Competitors will enter the stage without a shirt and barefoot. No lewd acts allowed for example the moon pose. Judges are looking for the contestant with the best stage presence and poise who can successfully convey his personality to the audience.
COMPETITION JUDGING-
* PRESENTATION: Competitors will walk to the center of the stage alone and perform quarter (1/4) turns with optional pose of hand on hip or hand in pocket, face the judges as directed then proceed to the side of the stage.
* COMPARISION ROUND: The competitors will be brought back out in a group and directed to do quarter turns. The Judges will have the opportunity to compare competitors against each other in quarter turns.
CROSSOVERS, NATIONAL SHOWS, IFBB PRO CARDS-
* CROSSOVERS: Crossovers are allowed at NPC shows in CO this year, but not at the NPC national level.
* NPC NATIONAL LEVEL CONTESTS: Competitors that place in the top five (5) in each class at national qualifying contests will have a one year qualification for national level events.
Note: For 2011 a place in the top five (5) of any Men’s Physique contest will qualify you for national level contests.
* QUALIFYING FOR IFBB PRO STATUS: JUNIOR USA CHAMPIONSHIPS – Top 2 placers in the overall comparison, JUNIOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS – Top 4 placers in the overall comparison, TEAM UNIVERSE – Height class winners, USA CHAMPIONSHIPS – Height class winners, IFBB NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS – Top 2 placers in the overall comparison, NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS – Height class winners earn IFBB Pro Cards.

2011 NPC SOUTHERN COLORADO FIGURE & BIKINI / ARMED FORCES WOMEN’S FIGURE
GENERAL CONTEST INFORMATION
1. NEW! PLEASE NOTE— Each contestant must be a current member of the NPC, (2011 NPC cards will be available for $100) Entry Fee: $70 if postmarked by May 1, 2011, $100 for entries postmarked after May 1, 2011 (Complete the entry form BELOW.)
2. Figure Over 35/40 contestants must have reached the age of 35/30 by May 14, 2011. Proof of age required.
3. Contestants must wear high heels in the swimsuit rounds.
4. Jewelry may be worn in the swimsuit rounds.
5. Thong swimsuits will not be allowed.
6. Exhibition of poor sportsmanship will be grounds for automatic disqualification.

8. Contestant check-in: 7:30 a.m. SATURDAY, MAY 14th, AT DOHERTY HIGH AUDITORIUM– Prejudging begins at 10:30 a.m., and Evening show at 6 p.m.
9. All contestants must bring all suits to be worn in competition to the Contestant Check-In for suit inspection by a show official.

PUBLICITY AND AWARDS:
Top 5 OPEN FIGURE winners in each of the THREE height classses for , (5’4″ and under, over 5’4″ – 5’6″, and over 5’6″),
Top 5 MASTERS FIGURE winners in each of the THREE age group classes, (40-45, 45-50 & Over 50),
Top 5 NOVICE FIGURE winners in each of the THREE, (3), height classes
(5’4″ and under, over 5’4″ – 5’6″, and over 5’6″),
Top 5 Over 35 BIKINI winners in ONE class,
Top 5 BIKINI winners in each of the THREE Bikini height classes, (5’4″ and under, over 5’4″ – 5’6″, and over 5’6″),
will receive Neils AndersonFitness/Figure Sculptures. This show is not a national qualifier. The first Figure national qualifier is the NPC MILE HIGH FIGURE CHAMPIONSHIPS June 4, 2011.
JUDGING PROCEDURES:
ROUND 1/SWIMSUIT
The contestants will be brought out in 1 or 2 lines for the quarter turns in a 2-PIECE SWIMSUIT. (Do not twist-look straight ahead.)The judges will be scoring the physique by assessing overall muscle tone with shapely lines, overall firmness and a small degree of muscularity with separation, no visible striations and no excessive leanness along with a full general assessment including healthy appearance, face, makeup and skin tone. At this time judges may ask for certain contestants to be placed next to other contestants.Then the quarter turns will be directed so the judges can make any finalcomparisons they wish..
SCORING
Scores are turned in after each round.
EVENING PERFORMANCE
All contestants will be introduced at the evening finals.
SPECIFIC INFORMATION ABOUT NEW BIKINI DIVISION:
- NO crossover into Bodybuilding, Fitness or Figure.
- Competitors will compete in a two-piece suit like Figure and Fitness. The bottom of the suit must be v-shaped. No thongs are permitted. Competitors can compete in an off-the-rack suit. All swimsuits must be in good taste. Swimsuit will be inspected at Athlete Check-In. NEW: BIKINI competitors must check in WEARING BIKINI SUIT to be in compliance with the new rule, “The bottom should be in good taste covering about 50% of the gluteal area.” If Bikini athlete has any questions they should bring a second suit with a more modest bottom.
- Competitors must wear high heels.
- Competitors may wear jewelry.
BIKINI JUDGING PROCEDURES:
Presentation
- Competitors will walk onstage alone and perform their Model Walk (personal preference) NEW! NOTE: Use good taste: No sexual overtones/gestures.
- The Model Walk consists of the following: Walk to the center of the stage, stop and do a front stance, (NEW! -Rear stance pose to be done in good taste-keep feet no more than 24 inches apart and no bending forward), then turn to the front again in front of the judges and then proceed to the side of the stage.
Comparison Round, Two-Piece Swimsuit
- Competitors will be judged wearing a two-piece swimsuit and heels.
- The competitors will be brought out in a group and directed to do a full front and rear stance. (NEW!-Rear stance pose to be done in good taste-keep feet no more than 24 inches apart and no bending forward.)
- Judges will have the opportunity to compare competitors against each other in half turns. (No side judging permitted, front and back only.)
- Judges will be scoring competitors on the following items:
- Balance and Shape
- Overall physical appearance including complexion, skin tone, poise and overall presentation.
